In this video, I give a quick demonstration of the original application features on the iPad.
With that out of the way, we go on to create a new Xcode 11 single view iOS application project. I chose this project template so we have a minimal amount of code to start development with, but we still have enough to run a starter build.
I also cover some of the configuration items like turning on macOS support for a cross-platform application.
I clean up the codebase by creating some groups and moving the files around to give us a nice clean project structure before committing to source control.
Now with everything ready, I pop open the terminal to create a new Git repository where I also create a basic readme file. Then I create the all-important .gitignore file.
Finally, the first commit is made adding all the new project files from within Xcode. As a bonus, I show how to add files and folders from the terminal which is my preferred method over Xcode.
By the end of this video, we have a working project ready to start development and a nice clean repository to store everything in.
