US President Donald Trump was praised by friends and family on the opening day of the Republican convention.
Guest speakers included his son Donald Trump Jr, NFL player Herschel Walker and Mark and Patricia McCloskey -- a couple arrested earlier this year after pointing guns at Black Lives Matter protesters outside their home.
