Retired Officer Severely Injured in Car Crash That Damages Elevated Home in Rural Belize
On Saturday August 3, retired police officer 69-year-old, Ronald Engleton, was severely injured in a car accident after driving into the elevated one bedroom home of Victor Amoa, a 76 year old retired rigger. The incident occurred at about a quarter to nine on Saturday night as Amoa slept inside his home. Police responded to the scene, and found Engleton suffering from severe swelling on the left side of his head and profusely bleeding. Love News visited Amoa to speak with him about the unexpected collision that caused tremendous instability to his home.
Engleton was transported to the KHMH for treatment. Engleton’s vehicle sustained extensive damage while the Belize City house saw damages to two of the support beams. Investigators are still probing into the circumstances that led to the crash. Love News understands that Engleton was driving towards Central American Bouelvard from Nargusta Street when he accelerated, jumped the divide and landed on the other side of the boulevard.
