The Nineties, the dawn of globalisation, and the experience of Alfonso Desiata, long-time CEO of Generali and leader of ANIA (the insurance sector’s national Association), and finally Chairman of Generali since 1999. From the foundation of Genertel - the first Italian company specialising in the sale of policies over the phone - in 1994 to that of Banca Generali in 1998, the turn of the century was definitely a lively period for the Lion of Trieste.
