After the Ancient Wyvern boss fight you are transported to the bonfire where I start at. Do the Path of the Dragon gesture at the altar to unlock the ring. Watch out for the sorcerer resurrecting a enemy by you. This ring makes you receive double damage so I don't know why you would wear it but you need it to collect all the rings in the game.
