Did you know that a whopping 60% of pet dogs and cats are considered overweight or obese?
Shocking, right?
But what's even more alarming is that only 2 out of 5 owners of overweight animals recognize the issue. As a veterinarian, I cannot stress enough how being overweight increases the risk of arthritis, diabetes, skin disease, and general body health problems for our furry friends.
Being overweight can also reduce a pet's life expectancy by as much as 2 years - that's huge!
The importance of recognizing the signs of obesity in our pet dogs and cats and then taking proactive measures to ensure their ongoing health and happiness is absolutely vital.
So, my question for you is: Have you ever considered the impact of your pet's weight on their quality of life?
