Sarah K. Tasian, MD, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Abramson Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA, gives an overview of Phase I clinical trials of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cells for leukemia at AACR 2021. Dr Tasian discusses the use of CD33-targeted CAR T-cells for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in children, adolescents and young adults. Dr Tasian also outlines preclinical development of FLT3-directed CAR T-cells for FLT3 mutant AML and KMT2a-rearranged acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and a first-in-human trial of thymic stromal lymphopoietin receptor (TSLPR) CAR T-cells for CRLF2-rearranged Philadelphia chromosome-like ALL.
