WHAT IS WEB SCRAPING AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
What is web scraping? That's what we will be discussing in this video. There are many reasons as to what web scraping is used for. It can be used for building a comparison website, scraping product pricing and details from multiple third party websites. Sometimes it is used to spy on competitors, analysing competing websites for updated pricing or services.
I will explain different use cases, and thoughts on how to use web scraping. You can use different programming languages such as Python, Ruby and Javascript to build a scraper. However, frequently people are interested to find out what is web scraping in python. Python is probably the most common language to do web scraping, however you can easily build a script to do this in most programming languages.
