We had planned to leave Gilgit today and head to Skardu - however due to bad weather and road closures this was not possible! We decided to take a day trip to visit some more beautiful scenery and the historical Kargah Buddha here in Kargah Nala.
We had the pleasure of meeting Shiraz who showed us around the Monument and told us about the history of this area. If you are in gilgit and looking for something a bit different - we would recommend a visit here and hopefully you can do some more hiking than we did due to the landslides!
