Deshaun Watson looked confident when it came to picking out his receivers. Even more important, he threw the ball where he wanted it to go. Watson has a very good arm. When he was in Houston, he completed 67% of his passes. That accuracy was not present in his six games with the Browns in 2022. It was on display Tuesday. Throw after throw on target and on time.
Having watched decades of these spring practices, this often hasn’t been the case with Cleveland QBs. Balls often seemed to be flying all over Berea, some landing in Parma, others on the turnpike. OK, that’s hyperbole. But you get the point.
Union rules prohibit any contact with the head or shoulders when defending passes. That helps the offense. This is almost like a passing camp. But it was reassuring for the Browns to see Watson look this good. | https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2023...
