Super Typhoon Yagi, Asia's most powerful storm this year, made landfall on Vietnam's northern coast on Saturday, tearing through China's southern island province of Hainan.
Yagi made landfall on Hainan island Friday with maximum sustained winds of 234 km/h (145 mph) near its center, downing trees and flooding roads.
