How to Add Categories and Subcategories in WordPress
Adding categories and subcategories to your blog is important because they allow you to organize your content in certain topics and subtopics, making it easier for your users to find what they are interested in.
Adding categories and subcategories in WordPress is very easy!
For categories:
1. Go to Posts - Categories;
2. Add a name for your category (e.g. Music);
3. Add a slug, which is the URL version of the name. In our case, it will be "music".
4. Press Add New Category and you're done!
For subcategories:
1. Add a name (e.g. Jazz);
2. Add a slug (jazz);
3. Select a Parent from the drop-down menu. In our case, we'll need to select the Music category as a parent.
4. Press Add New Category and that's it!
Now you'll have something like this www.example.com/music/jazz/
