A Review and general thoughts video about my time in Rogue Trader! After completing a full playthrough -    • Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader (Unfai...   - I am making this video which will touch on all the areas that I felt were most important in the game.

As a brief text summary: Rogue Trader is a great game and an excellent cRPG. If you are someone that enjoys cRPGs and turn based games, this is a very solid choice with a very unique setting and system. If you already enjoy Warhammer 40k as well, then it's a no brainer.

Out of the more commonly known cRPGs, Rogue Trader stands out for its use of the Rogue Trader system, its grim futuristic setting that is based in the Warhammer 40k universe and overall excellent quality of writing, both for the story, the lore and the companions. It's definitely one of those games that pulls you in to the lore and the world.

It is a turn based game, which naturally has it's pros and cons, but I would say that the current implementation and encounter design (with some very very rare exceptions) is quite adequate and gives you a flow that is very enjoyable.

Many different factions to explore, a very fun world map with many different systems and planets, a good amount of enemy variety and unique characters throughout the entire course of your adventure.

The complexity of the game, as is normally the case, is one of the best things about this game and can also be its downfall for some players. The game is indeed complex in the amount of feats, abilities, archetypes that you have available in order to build your characters and some people may feel a bit overwhelmed by all of it. Once you get into it though and things start clicking, it is very very satisfying.

Some negative notes (which are vastly overshadowed by the incredible quality of the game): Some planets you explore are just empty, which always feels bad; space ship battles tend to get quite boring after doing a few, and feel mostly like a chore than actual engaging and fun gameplay; colony events which require physical presence in the colony to resolve are extremely underwhelming and just feel like a waste of time.

Incredible game, very happy to have played it, very sad that it's over, very easy recommendation if you are someone who enjoys cRPGs or turn-based games with a futuristic grim setting and don't mind a lot of reading :D

Thank you all for watching!
