React, Typescript, and the Modern Frontend Web Stack (Anton Outkine, Tech Talk @ CodeDay Labs 2022)
Talk Description: In its 2003 annual geological report, the National Science Foundation listed the top three most complicated ecosystems as tropical rain forest, volcanic sea floor, and modern Javascript web development. It's no surprise -- given the sheer number of different languages and technologies that go into making modern websites, it's very easy to get lost to the point of not even knowing where to start. This workshop will cut through this informational fog by introducing a simple yet modern web development stack through the development of a "crypto-clicker" game. The technologies covered will be React, Typescript, and some kind of server stuff that I have yet to decide on.
Speaker Bio: Anton is a third-year at the University of Chicago studying math and computer science. In his free time, he is trying to finish an online robot game for programmers, although that's what he's said for the last three years so who even knows at this point.
