When the registration certificate of any vehicle shows in excess of ‘20 former keepers’ suspicions are often aroused. Initially, this 1977 Silver Shadow II certainly does not appear to be a typical multi-owner example, with evidence of a quality respray, a very good interior, and an excellent wood veneer. However, with one carburettor attached to the engine, and the other one in the boot, things did not look so good from a mechanical point of view. Indeed, close inspection revealed evidence of historic overheating, resulting in damage to large sections of the wiring loom, the radiator, expansion tank and other cooling components suffering similar fates. Hidden corrosion beneath is also a contributory factor in the decision to recycle the car.
