Summary: Chapter 12. TIn Chapter 12, titled "The Search for the Wicked Witch," Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion set out on their quest to defeat the Wicked Witch of the West, as commanded by the Wizard of Oz. As they journey through the land controlled by the Wicked Witch, she observes their approach through her magical tools. Determined to stop them, she sends various minions and hazards, including wolves, crows, bees, and Winkies, to attack the group. However, the travelers, using their combined wits and strengths, manage to overcome these obstacles. Finally, the Witch uses her most powerful minions, the Winged Monkeys, who capture Dorothy and her friends and take them to the Witch's castle. Dorothy becomes the Witch's slave, but the Witch is wary of Dorothy's silver shoes and plots to steal them.
This chapter builds tension and sets the stage for the confrontation between Dorothy and the Wicked Witch.
