COURSE DESCRIPTION

This online course provides a comprehensive introduction to recording audio, guiding you through the essential steps to set up and operate recording equipment. You will learn about the necessary gear needed like microphone, audio interface, headphones and how to connect and configure them for optimal performance. The course will show you how to set up your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) with the correct audio preferences, recording techniques, gain staging and file management. Whether you're new to audio recording or looking to refine your skills, this course equips you with the practical knowledge to create high-quality recordings.

HOW

The course will use an Italian Stage Mixer and the Eikon Studio One to do simple mic recordings, teach how to keep recordings in time and aim for target levels for mixing and mastering purposes. The course will be taught using Logic Pro X on a mac but the principles apply for any music production software like Ableton, Garageband, Reaper, Fruity Loops, Pro Tools etc. Theoretically the concepts are universal and should work for any DAW that has similar levels of functionality to Logic like Garageband, Ableton, pro tools, fl studio, reaper, studio one, bitwig, fruity loops, audacity etc. If you use a different DAW or Windows you may have to google or youtube some of the concepts.
