What To Do If Your Car Wont Start
First off!
This is my first diagnosis video (milestone ?)
Im feeling nervous about it, yes i diagnosed it correctly and yes the customer is now driving around happily, but im sure theres a few of you who know how to do it better or more effectively or whatever.
what im basically saying is if you a hater just move on and leave me be
anyway so the video. over time you get to associate certain noises and action with faults. so when i turned the key I instantly knew that ever the starter motor was faulty or the battery was dead.
the noises you hear is first the motor having a moan then the clicking is the soleniod pushing the toothed ring of the starter back and forth.
so instantly we know its a power issue, but what is the issue ?
in the trade we have a phrase that i hate "Load up the parts cannon" its basically when a mechanic dosent know what the issue is so just replaces things till he fixs it.....
i dont like to work that way, so instead of replacing the battery here you need to check if the battery is dead and why?
this one was old age so my investigations ended rather soon....but you could have gone and checked for a draw or poor earths or whatnot.
the point is check everything then check it again before replacing things!
