With Windows 10 there is sometimes a problem where you can't choose default apps from the Settings menu.
This is a way that works for me as well as other people. It really is more a workaround than an actual fix.
First I show what the problem looks like, followed by the fix.
Written tutorial:
Go to the "Settings" app from start menu
Click on "System"
Choose "Default Apps" in the menu on the left
Scroll down all the way and click on "Choose defaults by app". A new window should pop up and load, this can take some time (please be patient)
Choose your program on the left in the "Programs" column, and choose on the "Set this program as default" option.
Do this for all your preferred default programs, and then hit "Ok" in the bottom right
This should make the programs use ALL of their defaults. Alternatively, you can choose which defaults the program should use. To do this, instead of choosing "Set this program as default", choose "Choose defaults for this program".
I really do hope that this video helps you. If you have any questions, please leave a comment on the video.
Thanks.
