Nocturne 12: My grandmother had a music box, which I was fascinated with as a young child. I can still remember its melody. So I decided to write a composition to remind me of it and the atmosphere of her house many decades ago. The delicacy of the melody reminds me of how fragile we are and how early childhood experiences can stay with us throughout our lives. I hope you enjoy this performance of Nocturne 12 at my studio in Glasgow.
