Parks Canada and partners are using trail cams and eDNA (DNA collected in the environment from animals that shed their tissue, hair & feces) to monitor wolverines in Banff, Yoho, and Kootenay National Parks.
Wolverines occur in low numbers and occupy large territories, which makes them vulnerable to disturbance, so monitoring them gives us insight into how Parks Canada can help this species survive and thrive in years to come.
