How many hours do you study in a typical week? I’ve asked thousands of students this exact question in my role as a professor and career counsellor at an Australian University, and I’ve heard every version of this answer. 1 hour, 10 hours, 100 hours a week. A low number doesn’t concern me in the slightest - if it’s an issue of not enough effort, that is an easy problem to fix. But 100 hours a week? A surprising number of students who study harder than anyone else are still failing exams at University. Today’s episode will focus on the exam itself - strategies for answering different styles of questions - multiple-choice, short-answer, problem-solving, essays - and how to design your revision accordingly.
