Capistrano Beach Post Rain Run!
This was supposed to be a hike report, but it rained all morning, so I changed plans to run nearby Capistrano Beach. Beach runs are both amazing and grueling: the scenery, cool moist air, and new environments are reason alone to seek them out. But running on sand is so much harder than on asphalt, so an 8-mile run on beach sand can feel like a 12-mile run on asphalt… It’s even worse if the sand is extra soft and sinky! This was what made Capistrano tougher than most other beach sand runs, plus, it was full of little pebbles that were annoying to run over! This is why when you go for a beach run, just throw away your watch, because you’re gonna go slow slow slooow!
