[You know I am too lazy to type so I just Copy Pasted this as they do in the college assignments]
Bass describes tones of low [also called "deep"] frequency, pitch and range from 16-256 Hz [C0 to middle C4]. In musical compositions, such as songs and pieces, these are the lowest parts of the harmony. In choral music without instrumental accompaniment, the bass is supplied by adult male bass singers. In an orchestra, the bass lines are played by the double bass and cellos, bassoon or contrabassoon, low brass such as the tuba and bass trombone, and the timpani [kettledrums]. In many styles of traditional music such as Bluegrass, folk, and in styles such as Rockabilly and Big Band and Bebop jazz, the bass role is filled by the upright bass. In most rock and pop bands and in jazz fusion groups, the bass role is filled by the electric bass. In some 20th and 21st century pop genres, such as 1980s pop, hip hop music and Electronic Dance Music, the bass role may be filled with a bass synthesizer.
Bass is also divided into two frequency ranges:-
1. Sub Bass: 20 to 60 Hz
The sub bass provides the first usable low frequencies on most recordings. The deep bass produced in this range is usually felt more than it is heard, providing a sense of power. Many instruments struggle to enter this frequency range, with the exception of a few bass heavy instruments, such as the bass guitar which has a lowest achievable pitch of 41 Hz. It is difficult to hear any sound at low volume level around the sub bass range due to the Fletcher Munson curves [Equal Loudness Curves].
Bass: 60 to 250 Hz
The bass range determines how fat or thin the sound is. The fundamental notes of rhythm are centered on this area. Most bass signals in modern music tracks lie around the 90-200 Hz area. The frequencies around 250 Hz can add a feeling of warmth to the bass without loss of definition.
And I play with these Bass frequency ranges to provide a perfect balance of Power [Bass Boost] along with maintaining the clarity and crispness.
