In this video, I will demonstrate how to enlarge Eclipse’s font size and change some of the Element colors. By default, some of the elements are the same color. Therefore, changing an element color, will help us easily recognize each element.

Hello Everybody, Welcome To Selenium 4 Beginners. My name is Rex Allen Jones II. In this video, I will demonstrate how to enlarge Eclipse’s font size and change some of the Element colors. By default, some of the elements are the same color. Therefore, changing an element color, will help us easily recognize each element.
The purpose of changing Element colors such as methods, strings, comments, and TestNG annotations is to help recognize the difference between each element. The code displayed in the Workbench is from a demo showing How To Install Selenium and Its Required Components. Notice the size of the font in the Text Editor and Console. The default font and size for Eclipse is Consolas 10. Depending on your device, the font size can be too small. Therefore, we are going to enlarge the Text Editor and Console.
We can increase the size by searching for font in the Quick Access text box or by going to Windows in the menu, select Preferences, General, Appearance, then Colors and Fonts. Under Basic, we navigate to Text Font which contains the default for Text Editor and Console. From this point, I will click Use System Font then click Edit to increase the size of the font to 14 and click OK. Apply and Close.
The Text Editor and Console are set to size 14. However, I want the Console to be bigger than size 14. We can override the Console by going to Debug, select Console font (overrides default: Text Font), select Edit, then change the size to 16, click OK, click Apply, then click OK.
Run the program again. The font size has been changed in the Text Editor and Console. Now, let’s change the Element colors: methods, strings, comments, and TestNG annotations.
Go to the Quick Access text box, search for Syntax Coloring, select Preferences (Java - Editor), select Java in the Element section then navigate to Annotations. I like for my annotations to be green so I will click Color and go to 3rd column 4th row. Next is methods, select Color, and I am going to make the methods blue: 6th column 1st row. The last Java Element is Strings, navigate to Strings, and the color will be red: 1st column 2nd row.
Scroll down to Comments then click the Bold checkbox to make the Multi-line and Single-line comments bold faced. Let’s run this program one more time. Personally, I think the Text Editor and Console is more readable after enlarging the font size. Thank You for watching How To Change The Font Size and Colors in Eclipse.
