In northern China, a herder rescued a wild Eastern roe deer whose front hoof was ensnared in a trap. On January 25, 2024, in Hunlunbuir, Inner Mongolia, a video captured the moment when a man driving past a forest noticed the trapped roe deer.
Upon approaching, the roe deer exhibited signs of agitation, but as the man, identified as Liu, assessed the situation and fetched pliers from his car to free the deer from the trap, the animal gradually calmed down. It appeared to recognize Liu as a benevolent figure.
The compassionate act of breaking the trap by Liu seemed to reassure the distressed roe deer. Eventually, with some reluctance, the now-liberated animal parted ways with its rescuer.
