Using Aliases to update Custom Module Fields

You may have done this before. You built a module in a pinch because…you know…you have zero time and 1000 responsibilities. All of your fields are unorganized. Not grouped, style fields not in the styles tab. Trust me. No judgment!

Finally, you do have a chance to clean it up, BUT the module is being used on a site. If you move fields around (in/out of groups), the values that have been set in the module for the site will revert back to the default values.

Enter alias mapping. By using alias mapping, you will be able to update the module fields AND preserve the existing field values on the site.

Look you go, you rockstar, you.
