Video transcript:

A transparent proxy is a server that redirects your internet requests without any special setup on your device.

It sits between you and the websites you visit, intercepting your connections. Unlike other proxies, it doesn't hide your actual IP address. Instead, it shows your IP in the HTTP header to the websites you visit.

Organizations mostly use transparent proxies to monitor user activity and save bandwidth usage by caching data.

Another place where you can meet transparent proxies is on public Wi-Fis. When logging into public networks, transparent proxies detect unfamiliar IPs and ask you to authenticate by agreeing with the network's terms and conditions.
