In this German lesson you will learn the 50 most commonly used nouns in the German language. You always learn the nouns with the definite article, an example sentence from everyday life and of course with a suitable picture so that you can understand the word even without subtitles. In this video you will learn the following grammatical topics:

Verbs conjugate in the present tense
The present tense conjugation in German varies depending on which person (I, you, he/she/it, we, you, they/they) is used and whether the verb is regular or irregular. There are many irregular verbs in German where the conjugation deviates from the rule. It takes practice to correctly use present tense verb conjugation because it depends on verb stem changes and specific conjugation patterns.

Adjectives before nouns (adjective declension)
"The city of Berlin is a lively city." (feminine, indefinite article, nominative)
"The house has a beautiful garden." (masculine, indefinite article, accusative)
"The school has many students from different countries." (plural, indefinite article, dative)
"Breakfast consists of fresh bread." (neutral, no article, dative)
"The big ship sails across the blue sea." (neutral, definite article, nominative and accusative)

Alternating prepositions
are prepositions that can require either the accusative or the dative, depending on whether they indicate a direction (accusative) or a position (dative).
It is important to learn the differences between direction and position and the appropriate use of the accusative or dative in order to use them correctly when speaking German. Practice and contextual examples can help you automate the most common phrases.
"The clock on the wall shows the exact time."
"The children are playing happily in the garden."
"I like kayaking on the lake."

Prepositions always with the dative!
It is important for German learners to learn the prepositions that require the dative case in order to use them correctly. It is helpful to understand the connection between the preposition and the meaning it conveys in order to use it correctly in different contexts. This is the easiest way to recognize the dative and to correctly decline the articles, adjectives and nouns.
"The computer helps me with my work."
"On our birthday we celebrate with friends and family."
“The fresh vegetables come straight from the farmers market.”
