Incarnus Warfare is an upcoming indie RTS on Steam which offers simple base building with construction units, fast and fun unit combat using modern vehicles of war as well as resource collection based on a system of nodes and harvesters. To make things more interesting there are also capture points but these don’t win the match for you, just provide a bit of extra resources.

This gameplay was captured while playing the first working prototype of this game. The developer is still evaluating ways to raise funding so he can work on this game full time, and not be forced to return to his day job every few months, interrupting the development of Incarnus Warfare.
His plans are to have Skirmish, which is what I am playing here, local and competitive ranked multiplayer as well as two singleplayer campaigns. Two factions, one of which is playable right now, and a third one in a sort of an expansion. Defensive buildings are planned as well, but walls maybe… depending on the final gameplay.
Some abilities will be added, but it is not yet known whether they will be for the units or the commander. There will be a secondary research resource, which you can see in the UI, the blue one. It will be used for advanced end game units and upgrades, and you will be able to get it by capturing artifact sites on the map. Those aren't implemented in this version of the game, and neither are the repair, sell and power options or infantry and top tech units.
What is implemented is directional damage to vehicles for example, meaning that while units have health, they also have armor on certain parts, and lack it in others. This is why tanks in this game take extra damage when hit from behind. Their individual turret speeds also differ quite a lot, letting fast and light vehicles almost run circles around heavy vehicles.
Just as many times before I am blown away by how much work single lone indie developers put into these games, and how much they are able to craft on their own using all the tools at their disposal. I very much enjoyed the simplicity of this demo despite feeling the need for some game changers and deadlock breakers like super weapons or super powers.
