If one of the dome/map lights in your Honda or Acura has stopped working, has lost some of its functionality, or has intermittent problems: then this video just might help you. If it's both lights, then start with the fuse. Swap a bulb out, see if that changes anything. Other than that it could be the wire harness, connectors, or grounding issue.
If the symptoms in my video match yours, then you likely need a new switch/button. Interestingly enough, from what I've read, all Hondas and Acuras from the late 90's to the present day use the same exact switches! So if you can salvage one - it's certainly reusable.
The part (switch/button) you're looking for is 924-798. The most popular brand seems to be "Dorman". So if you type "Dorman 924-798" in a search engine, you'll get plenty of results for online stores. I'd suggest checking ebay and amazon too. In either case, from what I've observed, the online prices are way cheaper than the real-life store ripoffs.
UPDATE: you can try swapping the left and right switches (take them out and reinstall them in the opposite sides). There's a chance that that'll "fix" it, believe it or not. Definitely worth a shot before buying new switches.
