Mordhau Eveningstar Gameplay - Alt-Grip Tips + Full Match (via Twitch)
Today's Mordhau gameplay video features the Eveningstar, with some special tips on the weapon's alt-grip stab. The Eveningstar is one of my favorite two-handed weapons. It comes with a respectable range (90cm) and even more respectable damage output (it can 2-shot everything but level 2 and 3 leg armor).
The Eveningstar's alt-grip mode reduces the range of the weapon to 60cm, but allows you to attack faster. The alt-grip reduces the recovery time between swings by an actually noticeable 100ms. This mode is primarily for close-quarters fights, indoor fights, or against opponents who are using fast weapons like axes, messes, or cleavers.
Additionally, the Eveningstar's stab damage gets a boost when you use the weapon's alternate grip. The Eveningstar will do more stab damage, across all tiers of armor, with stabs in the alt-grip mode.
The increase in damage is almost consistent across all tiers of chest armor:
• Level 0 Chest Armor takes 20 more damage from alt-grip stabs.
• Level 1 Chest Armor takes 20 more damage from alt=grip stabs.
• Level 2 Chest Armor takes 19 more damage from alt-grip stabs.
• Level 3 Chest Armor takes 15 more damage from alt-grip stabs.
Clearly, the alt grip excels when it comes to stabbing.
