Our guest is Dr. Linda Billings, a consultant to NASA’s astrobiology and planetary defense programs in the Planetary Science Division of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Her research interests include science and risk communication, social studies of science, and the history and rhetoric of science and space exploration. She has worked for more than 30 years in Washington, D.C., as a researcher, policy analyst, journalist, and consultant to the government. Dr. Billings has also contributed to a number of publications on space science and policy, including Reclaiming Space: Progressive and Multicultural Visions of Space Exploration, and 50 Years of Solar System Exploration: Historical Perspectives.
