How to Block Website in Chrome on Desktop and Android
In this tutorial, you will learn how to block a website in Chrome on desktop and Android by installing an extension on desktop and app on Android.
Method 1: On Desktop
Search for BlockSite extension, then open the result with the chrome.google.com link. Click on "Add to Chrome". Click on "Add extension" to confirm. Review the terms and click on "I Accept". This will install BlockSite in your Chrome browser. Click on the Extensions icon in the upper-right area of Chrome. A drop-down menu will appear. Select the BlockSite extension. Then click on the gear icon at the upper-right corner. Type in the address of the website in the text field that you want to block. Then click on the plus icon. This will block the website. To unblock a website, tap on the trash icon to the right of blocked website’s URL. Click on the 3-dot menu at the upper-right area of Chrome. Select "More tools", then "Extensions". Click on the "Details" button of BlockSite. Click on the toggle switch of "Allow in incognito" to turn it on. This will block websites in Chrome's incognito mode also.
Method 2: On Android
Install the BlockSite app from the Play Store, then launch it. Review the terms and tap on "I Accept". Follow the on-screen instructions to provide permissions to the app. After providing the required permissions, you will come to the dashboard of the app. Tap on the plus icon. Type in the address of the website that you want to block. Tap on the website in the Suggestions list. Tap on the "Done" button. This will block the website. To unblock a website, tap on the trash icon to the right of blocked website’s URL.
