The song "Apache" was written by Jerry Lordan and first recorded by British guitarist Bert Weedon in 1960. However, it really took off when The Shadows covered it later that year, with their version hitting number one on the UK charts for five weeks. The Shadows' take on "Apache," featuring Hank Marvin's memorable lead guitar riff, became an instrumental rock classic. Inspired by the 1954 film "Apache," the song's sound brings to mind the American West and Native American themes. Over the years, "Apache" has been covered by many artists and remains a beloved instrumental rock tune.
