The Tanzanian government has approved the first public "Sukuk" or Islamic bond listing on the Dar es Salaam stock exchange. KCB Bank is behind the listing and says it aims to allow those who want to invest in instruments that align with Islamic banking principles to do so. Experts in the sector say the appetite for Islamic bonds is growing in Tanzania. The bond is considered less volatile and attracts high returns.
