There are three types of particle cut: Strip-Cut, Cross-Cut and Micro-Cut. Strip cut are the traditional strips you see from most conventional shredders. Nothing too crazy and perfectly capable of piecing it back together. Cross cut not only cuts the sheet into a strip, but also goes back over to make the scraps smaller. A little bit more difficult to puzzle, depending on level of security. And micro cut is when it cuts the paper into confetti-like pieces. You'd be hard pressed to put this one back together...
