00:28 Take photos at eye level to the wildlife - get as low down as possible
01:07 Use the natural light around you and only book morning and evening game drives
01:56 Use a telephoto zoom lens at least 400mm in focal distance
02:24 Use teleconverters for extra reach
02:38 Bring spare batteries, powerbank, usb cables and your battery charger
03:03 Create custom shooting modes on your camera for better control
03:48 Hold your camera correctly by using your arm as a natural camera support
04:23 Avoid changing lenses inside the safari vehicle due to dust and debris in the air around you
04:45 Bring a smaller camera for close up shots even a smartphone will be fine for close ups of wildlife approaching the vehicle
05:24 Use a camera strap to avoid losing expensive gear and also to add better stability especially for when shooting video
05:46 Check your camera settings regularly to help maintain a sufficient shutter speed and to make sure you're in the correct shooting mode
06:18 Check composition by moving the camera for more neutral and cleaner backgrounds
06:37 Use mounted cameras such as a GoPro or an Insta 360 for wide immersive shots of wildlife close to the vehicle
06:59 Use a smartphone mounted to the hot-shoe of the camera to avoid missing the action
07:19 Protect your camera gear as best as possible
