January Thaw
The Gage family is happy to be out of the hustle and bustle of
New York City. They have settled into their remodeled country
home in Connecticut updating the home with all the modern
amenities of the 1940s—including indoor plumbing and a fur-
nace. Enter the old fashioned Jonathan and Matilda Rockwood
and their son, Matt. The Rockwood's sold their home to the
Electric Company with the stipulation that they could live in the
house until they died. After traveling the country for 6 years,
they have returned to home only to find that the Electric
Company sold their home to the Gages. Both families have a
legal right to the home and neither are willing to leave. As a
contest for the possession begins, the two families are isolated
together by a blizzard. In the freezing house, while the suffering
Gages breakfast on what's left (cornflakes, molasses and olives),
the smell of fresh biscuits comes from the rooms of the old-
fashioned Rockwoods.
January Thaw opens April 9 at 7:30 with our traditional wine and appetizer reception. The show
continues April 10, 11, 17, 18, 23, 24 & 25 at 7:30pm and a 2pm matinee on April 19. This is
also our Tulip Time show running May 2-9.
