AWS EBS GP3 volume types | 20% savings over gp2 and performance independent of volume size
AWS recently released a new gp3 EBS volume type that offers up to 20% savings and performance is independent of the volume size. The base cost for gp3 is $.08/g whereas the previous gp2 is $.10/g.
By default the gp3 starts at 3000 IOPS regardless of the size of the volume.
Updating existing volumes is very simple and can be done with no downtime.
