More than 26,000 Canadian military personnel fought in the Korean War as part of the United Nations force, and 516 died, making it Canada's third-bloodiest overseas conflict. After the Korean Armistice was signed on July 27, 1953, some 7,000 troops remained in Korea to support the uneasy peace. The 516 Canadians who died in the conflict are commemorated with a Wall of Remembrance at Meadowvale Cemetery in Brampton, Ont.
