Andy has over 30 years of experience in public water supply, water treatment, water quality, public health, operations, distribution system repair, and underground construction, serving over one million people in the greater San Jose metropolitan area. Andy earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Connecticut. A part-time job during college inspired his career in water and led to his deeply rooted desire to make a lasting contribution to society.

Water, energy, and climate change are inextricably linked, and Andy helps to connect the dots.. Improvements in pumping efficiency, leak detection, and smart meters that empower conservation decisions before receiving the bill save water, energy and carbon emissions.. With recent global droughts and shifting weather patterns, people seem to be more ‘water aware’ including the quality of the water supply. Andy explains the current state of regulations and management of PFAS, a ubiquitous family of chemical that has been in headlines recently This episode will challenge all of us to rethink our roles as it relates to the water supply.
