Skift is programming a two-hour mini-forum at WTM 2016 to explore the faultlines of disruption in the global hospitality sector. For the first time since online booking of travel became mainstream, hotels are being rewired and rethought from top to bottom, and every obvious and non-obvious part of hospitality is being turned over, questioned, and retooled. Alternative accommodations are not just alternatives anymore, they are going mainstream. Digital distribution wars are creating all kinds of havoc in the industry. The great thing is consumer have tons of choices, the bad thing is consumers have too many choices to decide from.

This programming will explore how these fault lines manifest themselves in the form of old vs new, consumer vs business, east vs west and other such clashes. We aim to decipher these clashes through a series of conversations with industry players at WTM.
