Budget Astrophotography with a DSLR is surprisingly easy and despite the light pollution fantastic Deep Sky Photography from the city is within the reach of even a beginner. In this video I show you how to beat the skyglow and image nebula from an urban backyard or roof on a low cost budget of £150. This is fun astrophotography with incredible results!

My astrophotography setup: I photographed Orion with a DLSR, a canon EOS 1000D Rebel which I modified and a skywatcher alt az goto mount with a 102mm achromatic refractor telescope on top. All items were bought on ebay or Astro Buy and Sell UK.

The Target: The orion nebula is one of the brightest deep space targets in the nights sky. It also emits light in hydrogen alpha (Ha) and Oxygen II (Oii) wavelengths which can be used to our advantage when photographing from a light polluted city such as London.
