Announced in 2007, the Recession flipped the project upside down developer Jeffrey Sofer of Turnberry Associates had no choice but to file bankruptcy after being underwater on their Miami Fontainebleau renovation as well, and the site became abandoned. The site was previously occupied by El Rancho and the Thunderbird. The grand opening was attended by counteless celebrities and had Justin Timberlake as the nights entertainment.
