Because of the alarming number of spam emails we get every day, many people wonder how they can prevent those emails and senders from getting into their Inboxes.
Unsubscribing from emails can be an option; however, there are still messages without the unsubscribing links for some reason. In this case, blocking may be the perfect (and the only) solution.
Here, we will talk about different ways of how you can block an email address in Gmail, on your phone, and in any email provider using third-party apps.
How to block an email address in Gmail
To block senders in Gmail, please open an email from a sender you would like to stop. Click the three dots next to the reply button and select the 'Block [sender’s name]' option.
Alternatively, you can go to the Settings, click on All Settings, and choose the option that is called Filters and Blocked Addresses. Here you will see all email addresses you blocked previously. So, if you decide to unblock any of them in the future, you can do it on this page as well.
Blocking an email address using your phone (Gmail)
If you want to block an email address on your phone in the Gmail app, you need to do exactly the same. Open the Gmail app, click on a message from the sender you want to block, press the three dots, and choose Block.
How to block an email address on iPhone (Mail app)
If you use the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad, open the Mail app, press on the Sender (From: [address]), and choose Block.
Third-party apps and platforms
To save time, you may want to use third-party apps and websites that can do the job for you.
