You can create multiple locations with your Square account to keep your inventory, taxes, and reports organized and distinct. Set up unique business profiles for each location with specific business hours and individual bank accounts or tags to differentiate transfers.

Before getting started, it’s important to keep in mind, once you create a location there isn’t a way to delete it—you’ll only have the ability to deactivate. Deactivated locations will continue to be visible and can be reactivated at any time.

To create a new location:

1. Head to your online Square Dashboard and click Account and Settings.
2. Under the Business tab, click Locations. You’ll see your default active location.
3. Next click Create Location.

From here, you can enter:
- The location nickname
- The locations bio
- If it’s a new physical location, you can enter the location address
- Include your contact info so your customer can reach out if they have any questions
- Create unique location branding, or use your standard account branding
- Add a location-specific checkout image
- Set your timezone and business hours
- Select which bank account you’d like transfers from this location to go to.

Keep in mind, you can’t add a new bank account from the location details page, only select an existing bank account. If you need to add a new bank account, first head to the Bank Accounts tab.

- Select your language preference
- And choose to duplicate your item library from an existing location or create a distinct item library
- Lastly you can bulk assign your team members to a location

Locations also allow you to create taxes for specific regions. Once you have multiple locations, you can create a tax and assign it to a specific location. For example, if you have a shop in New York, and a shop in St Louis, you can create a unique sales tax for each location.

When you sign into the Square app, you can select a location to start selling, and filter your reports to view location-specific transaction and sales information.

Just keep in mind, if you need to switch locations from the Square app, you’ll need to sign out, and then sign in again to select a new location.
