Welcome to the Music Production miniseries. I will be walking you through the creation of a Pop EDM track from start to finish. These tutorials are conducted in REAPER but can be followed by users of any DAW. The plugins used are FREE at the time this video was released.

In this video, we’ll talk all about the rhythmic part of the song - the drums!
We’ll talk about the various ways to create drum tracks in REAPER, as well as the specific tools you can use to build out your drum patterns.
Then, we’ll walk through pulling up our sampler and importing our media items (samples) into the sampler. Specifically, we’ll discuss auditioning the samples, replacing the default samples in the sampler pad, layering samples, and we’ll sprinkle in some sound design to go with it.
Lastly, we’ll draw in our drum patterns in the MIDI Editor and make fine-tune adjustments to the note lengths and velocities, so that our drums sound just right in the mix.
