Today's Mordhau gameplay video sees me slapping the P key to return to the world of third-person Mordhau. After my recent "Is Third Person Any Good?" video ( • Mordhau Third Person Gameplay - Tryin... ) wherein I discovered that third-person Mordhau is much easier, I decided to see if stabbing is easier in third person as well.
Stabbing, in recent times, has been a bit of a pain point for me. While playing Mordhau in first-person, I've seen many stabs seemingly slide right through an enemy without damaging them one bit. So I wanted to see if stabbing in third-person was more revealing, or if it was more of a perspective issue all along.
For those who don't know, stabbing in Mordhau can come from the left or the right side of the player's character, depending on which way the arrow is facing in the 240 system. Sometimes when you move the camera as you stab, you'll move the weapon "through" an enemy after the damaging point of the spear (the tip) has already shot forward. Since the shaft of the spear doesn't deal damage, nor does the tip of the spear as it returns to the default form, it can often appear as if your stab goes right through an enemy.
