Many a soldier has had a good time at Fiddler’s Green. Based on the legendary U.S. Army Cavalry poem of a mythical canteen that honors the fallen, many U.S. Army posts have a pub named in its honor. Inspired by the poem and good times had, we present a fresh, green, sharp scent. This soap smells similar to Creed’s Green Irish Tweed or Davidoff’s Cool Water.

FIDDLER’S GREEN
Halfway down the trail to Hell, In a shady meadow green Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped, Near a good old-time canteen. And this eternal resting place Is known as Fiddlers’ Green.
Marching past, straight through to Hell The Infantry are seen. Accompanied by the Engineers, Artillery and Marines, For none but the shades of Cavalrymen Dismount at Fiddlers’ Green.
Though some go curving down the trail To seek a warmer scene. No trooper ever gets to Hell Ere he’s emptied his canteen. And so rides back to drink again With friends at Fiddlers’ Green.
And so when man and horse go down Beneath a saber keen, Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee You stop a bullet clean, And the hostiles come to get your scalp, Just empty your canteen, And put your pistol to your head And go to Fiddlers’ Green.

Having used canned goo and a multi-blade face shredder throughout my military career, I dreaded the task of shaving as it left my face pissed and irritated. As soon as the ink was dry on my exiting papers, I did what many veterans do… I grew a beard. The beard was fun, hip maybe, but I missed the professional look and feel of a clean shave. My pursuit for a better shave began.
In my search for improved shaving options, I came across site after site of companies offering products that only the dainty and the Zoolanderish would approve. What the heck is a metrosexual, anyways? Luckily, I came across traditional wet shaving. I was instantly hooked. What’s not to like about cold steel combined with a quality shave brush and soap? Having found a better way to shave, I took a great interest in the gear and soaps used in traditional wet shaving.
Researching the methods and science behind the soaps, I decided to try and make my own. After many iterations, recipe changes, and feedback from friends and family, I landed on a formulation that hit the mark for ease of lather, cushion, slickness, and post shave feel. My combination of tallow, oils, shea butter, and bentonite clay, are made in small batches utilizing a traditional hot process and are combined with manly scents. Proudly made in Riverside, CA, you’ll find that our soap is second to none.
